Marine Environmental Risk Assessment

SMRU Ltd has advised industrial developers on potential impacts of their activities in the marine environment, and the most effective solutions to these impacts.  We have provided advice to non-commercial organisations  in relation to Strategic Environmental Assessments in the marine environment, expert review of developer Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Appropriate Assessments.  We provide specialist authoritative input to EIAs on marine mammals and bespoke research into marine mammal interactions with development and human activities using our highly experienced scientists alongside our network of world-leading advisors from academia.  We work closely with developer teams to ensure project risks are identified and managed, from pre-consenting consultation through to post installation monitoring and reporting. 

Our risk assessment services include the provision of input to real time acoustic risk assessment tools for the military, and the application of these state-of-the-art packages to civil activities such as oil & gas exploration.
