We provide bespoke advice to developers in relation to potential impacts of marine activities and their mitigation.

Animal-borne instrumentation for marine mammals is a proven strength of the Sea Mammal Research Unit, and SMRU Ltd actively promotes the application of this technology to other areas of marine data collection. Further information can be found here.

marine mammal monitoring

SMRU Ltd provides a vertically integrated service for marine and coastal environmental advice, including the collection and statistical analysis of field data. This focuses on the distribution and abundance of marine wildlife, especially marine mammals and other large predators, using information collected by certified Marine Mammal Observers.
